WHO ARE WE?
We are a non-profit land regeneration project and working organic olive farm based in Andalucía. We employ three main techniques for land management: permaculture design, syntropic agroforestry and water retention. Welcome to our mission!

Mission
To regenerate and reforest the 20 hectares of depleted farmland surrounding Suryalila Retreat Centre in Cadiz province, using permaculture principles, water retention techniques, and sustainable land management. We endeavor to share and expand our knowledge through offering educational programmes.

VISION
To be part of the solution to save the planet, by reversing desertification, and global warming through reforestation. We aspire to build a resilient and regenerative oasis, abundant in food and rich in biodiversity, and to be an inspiring example of sustainability.

OUR TEAM
VIDYA – Founder of Suryalila
Vidya is the soul of Danyadara and visionary of the project. As the Director of Suryalila Retreat Centre Vidya has always taken pride in loving the land and treating it with care and respect.
She strives to create beautiful spaces for guests to enjoy and also wants to move towards more self-sufficiency. Through her immersion in yogic philosophy, Vidya is very aware of how our actions need to contribute to the greater good – that is the main motivation behind the creation of Danyadara.

OLMO – danyadara manager
Born on a self-sufficient farm in northern Spain, Olmo grew up surrounded by nature, animals, and plants – a connection that shaped his lifelong passion.
After studying Civil Engineering with a focus on water design, he discovered permaculture at 26 and committed to working in harmony with the Earth.
Today, Olmo carries his dream of reforesting Andalucía into reality at Danyadara, where he leads with vision and heart. Inspired daily by his two children, he works for a regenerative future they can grow into.

Milan – Danyadara Assistant Manager
Milan first discovered regenerative agriculture at Suryalila in 2021, when he joined a Permaculture Design Course. What began as a year of volunteering soon grew into a full-time role at Danyadara.
He found deep purpose in working with the land and integrating food production, regenerating soil, and embracing healthy, outdoor living. His main focus is Syntropic Agroforestry, a way of growing food while restoring degraded landscapes.
After training with leading practitioners, Milan now brings this knowledge back to Danyadara, where he continues to nurture a deeper connection between people and the natural world.

Emilio – Permaculture teacher
Emilio has been living a simple life in the countryside for over a decade, cultivating the land and actively practicing agroecology. His objective is to create a ‘green lung’, a ‘school of flavours of the earth’ and a native forest that recreates and shelters the ecosystem that 100 years ago reigned in this region of Spain

WHAT WE DO

Land Management
We design and implement techniques with the potential to regenerate biodiversity on the soil. These comprehend hands-on projects that focus mainly on sustainable water management, waste management for compost creation, food production, and reforestation.

Knowledge sharing
We focus on facilitating knowledge exchange spaces through hands-on courses. These spaces aim to share our experience and know-how as well as spread and inspire ideas that could contribute to a holistic approach to sustainable living.

Partnerships
A meaningful impact to adapt to the desertification process requires collaboration with others. We work to foster long-term partnerships aiming to a) access and make sustainable use of limited resources and b) leverage stronger capacities for action.
